Dear Fellow Knitters and Crocheters, my name ist Steffi Hochfellner – actually, my passport says something different, but there was no way out of using my maiden name for everything creative I do – it’s a bow in the direction of my parents, who supplied my brother and me with any creative material we wanted to use, who encouraged us, who tolerated the creative chaos we kids left everywhere. No surprise, my brother became a gifted carpenter, while I’m a grafic designer. Knitting and crocheting has always fascinated me, but I never thought about doing it professionally – unless I created my first knitted animal. I got immediately hooked, and after designing the third one, I started to make notes and finally write patterns. I was lucky to find in DroemerKnaur a renowned german publishing house who wanted to publish my patterns. So far, two books about knitted animals and dolls and one about everything „cat“ has been published in German. Additionally, I started translating my patterns into English.
